Therapy for Care Partners

Caring for someone you love can be profoundly meaningful — and profoundly exhausting. Whether you're supporting a family member with a life-limiting condition or ongoing health needs, the emotional, physical, and relational toll can be immense.

Therapy offers a space that is just for you. A place to breathe, process grief and guilt, explore your own needs, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been quietly put aside. At Therativa, care partners are met with deep respect, clinical expertise, and a trauma-informed, palliative approach that acknowledges both the beauty and the burden of caregiving.

Therapy can support you in:
Feeling grounded when everything around you is shifting
Naming and making space for resentment, grief, guilt, or numbness- without judgement
Exploring who you are outside of your caregiving role
Reconnecting to a sense of self, purpose, and emotional capacity
Learning practical nervous system supports for overwhelm and exhaustion
Being witnesses, gently and fully, in the complexity of your care partnership.

This may apply if you’re:
Supporting someone with a life-limiting condition
Navigating neurodivergent experiences (such as autism and ADHD)

Navigating palliative care, aging, or medical uncertainty
Showing up for a partner, parent, friend, client, or chosen family
Balancing caregiving with your own chronic illness or responsibilities
Feeling invisible, overextended, or alone in your role

You don’t need a formal diagnosis in your household to be impacted. If you're carrying the weight of care, this space is here for you.

Conditions that often affect care partners include:
Advanced or terminal cancer
ALS or neuromuscular illness
Parkinson’s, MS, or other progressive conditions
Advanced heart or respiratory disease
Dementia (any stage or type)
Chronic illness requiring ongoing advocacy or coordination
End-of-life or palliative care situations

Therapy for Helping Professionals

When your work revolves around caring for others, it’s easy to lose sight of your own needs. Whether you’re a nurse, teacher, therapist, or frontline worker, the constant emotional labour, systemic strain, and pressure to hold it all together can quietly erode your well-being.

This space is for you — the one others turn to. Therapy offers a place to step out of the role, tend to the parts of you that are overwhelmed or unseen, and reconnect with your own values and vitality. At Therativa, helping professionals are met with compassion, clinical insight, and a deep understanding of what it means to care for others while trying to stay whole yourself.

Therapy can support you in:
Processing burnout, moral distress, vicarious trauma or compassion fatigue
Navigating systemic pressures and emotional labour
Holding space for others without losing yourself
Untangling identity from professional role
Reconnecting with meaning, purpose, and inner clarity
Establishing boundaries that honour both you and your work
Soothing nervous system overwhelm from long-term stress
Making room for your own grief, needs, and healing

Even those who hold others need holding, too. Therapy offers a space to be human — not just professional.
